    Christmas through the years

    Thursday, November 29th, 2007

So today my daughter and I finished putting up the rest of the Christmas decorations. She had asked me why we had the same old stuff this year that we had last year to put up. She must think that you should buy new stuff each year. So my husband had explained to her that she will be seeing that same Christmas stuff for the rest of our lives, as it’s all a tradition.

    Santa is coming to town…

    Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

So yesterday my dad dressed up like santa so the baby could get his picture taken with him. Our daughter would spot grandpa pretty quick, so I’ll have to find a different santa for her. So at what age do kids stop believing in santa? I was told that I told other kids there was no santa, but what age was that? I wonder how long it will be until our daughter figures it out? Some of that Christmas magic will be gone I’m sure when it occurs. I was trying to think of when my parents stopped with santa presents, I can’t recall.

    Turkey Day Done

    Saturday, November 24th, 2007

Well, like everyone else, I got through turkey day! We all ate to much (and it was good). We put up our Christmas tree and decorated on Thanksgiving as well, so it was quite a busy day.

Of course the day after Thanksgiving is Black Friday. Now I was thinking about that yesterday and here’s my thoughts.

    Christmas Woes Already?

    Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

So usually I’m on top of things for Christmas, but this year I’m a bit slow.

One of my concerns this year is getting toys for the tots that don’t have lead paint in them. I actually am going to try to find made in the USA toys and see if they’ll do. I’m sure they will (that’s if I can find them). Isn’t everything under the sun made in China, I honestly think it is. Now baked goods, those are definitely made here Maybe I’ll just get the kids some nice blueberry muffins for X-mas

    Out of sorts today…

    Thursday, November 15th, 2007

Today is one of those days where everything is just a bit off. The baby is crying a lot, the kindergartener is out of sorts, and mommy has a headache. And let me tell you, if you’ve ever heard my son scream, you’d know that a headache and him DO NOT get along What is a mommy supposed to do on a day like this? Well, as I’ve come to find out, the same thing she does when everything is going just great. So down the hatch with the Tylenol and let’s get the dishes done!

    McDonalds

    Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

So today we went to McDonalds for lunch. We got there way early so the kids could play. Anyhow, it smelled so bad that it was almost hard to eat. The McD’s people said they had just powerwashed the playground and that’s what the smell was.

    First Tooth

    Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

My daughter lost her first tooth last night! I was so proud of her, she worked on it and worked on it until she just pulled it out. So the tooth fairy had to come last night, good thing she went to sleep fast. I guess after ripping out a tooth, it would just wear a girl out!

As she starts loosing them, my son is getting his 3rd one. I never thought teeth could be so exciting…

    Lazy Sunday

    Sunday, November 11th, 2007

Hmmm, well it’s another lazy Sunday. The news said this will be the last nice day for a while so the hubby and I will try to go for a bike ride today. Tomorrow the high will be 41, ya, a tad to cold. But it’ll be nice to have colder weather to put the Christmas spirit into my head. I’m making some gifts this year (I should really bust a move on that).

    Grocery Game for the week

    Saturday, November 10th, 2007

So I was pretty happy today, I saved 37%, around $70 today on my weekly shopping trip! Yeah! Seriously now, if someone gave you a 40% off coupon, wouldn’t you use it? Good shopping day. I would have done more, but I had to hurry up. I might have to go back and get a turkey for the dirt cheap prices, even though thanksgiving won’t be at our house this year.

    First Entry - Intro

    Friday, November 9th, 2007

Alright everyone, well this will start off the mommy blog.

Some quick background for those of you who don’t know me. I’m a mom of 2 (a five year old step-daughter and a 6 month old baby). I just recently finished my MBA, had finally become a senior financial analyst for a communications company, had the career in full swing, when along came a little baby. Now, I’m a stay at home mommy for a kindergartener and an infant (funny how things can change so rapidly).

I’ll try to cover some of my daily events, or just write small editorials on whatever needs to be talked about - sound good?
