Forced Beauty

My husband surprised me by forcing my daughter and I out of the house and using some of his birthday money to get our nails done. My daughter loved this, as she always does. She calls it “mommy-daughter time”, even though in my head we weren’t anywhere near each other for the duration of getting our nails done. So why do I say “forced”?

My daughter is 6, about the age of the girl in this picture. My daughter gets curious about makeup and I always tell her that she’s pretty, she doesn’t need makeup. She asks why I wear it then, I tell her it’s for the sunscreen (which is partially true). Then there are girls like the one in this pic. So where’s the mom to slap!

Leaving work has done many things to me and made certain things issues that weren’t when I was in the corporate world. One thing that has been at the forefront in my mind since becoming a stay at home mom about a year ago is that how will my children know what I’ve done in my life? Will they ever know about what I did to make me “Mommie”?

Is It Haunting You?
Saturday, February 16th, 2008So I know to many people who are running around with not so perfect credit. I love the commercials on tv about free credit report.com, they have a guy singing in different situations about having bad credit. The one I especially like is where he’s singing about marrying his dream girl but he didn’t know her credit was bad, so now they live in her parents basement instead of a house.
I’ve always watched my credit fairly closely, but my husband didn’t. So when I married him I had to get to work on his rating (which after we got married would be my rating).
