Turning Baby Around To See The World

As we neared our Spring Break vacation, we knew we had a long drive ahead of us. My husband wanted our son to be turned around in his car seat, facing forward, so he could be more entertained during the trip. I was dead set on listening to the two major things that had been drilled into my mind, 1)the have to be a year old and 2)they must be over 20 lbs. Our son is 11 mo old and is about 21 lbs. So what do you think we ended up doing?

The Right Bed
Saturday, March 29th, 2008If there is one thing I’ve learned from my most recent vacation experience, it’s what a blessing the right bed is. We slept on a family air mattress one night and then a motel bed the other. Both left us wanting to be back in our own bed at home. Our home bed is more of a massage chair then just a bed. It’s one of those huge king pillow tops with memory, ahhhh.

Back From Vacation Hell - Early…

Well, we got back from vacation early. Our week long trip to Moab and to see family was cut to a sad 2 days. Our little one, who never gets sick, came down with something on our first day. He stopped eating well and then came the dreaded night. We haven’t decided if he just really wanted his own bed and not a pack-n-play or if he was just really sick, but the whole family didn’t get hardly any sleep the first night. Not fun!

Friday, March 28th, 2008After having such a horrible vacation experience, I thought about some other great places people could go. How about spas? Those are great, you get to relax and unwind. I’d love one of these because you’d get pampered. Being a stay at home mom, I need to be pampered (I never get it though).
Outer Banks
Friday, March 28th, 2008My sister lives in Virginia and they have been to the Outer Banks numerous times. She’s a lighthouse freak, so there’s tons for her to see and do out there. She took my parents when they were out there one time.
So you can rent a house for a vacation there, right on the beach! It makes vacationing at the Outer Banks a great experience so check it out!
