I thought the days of women being ripped off in repair shops was over. Maybe I thought that we were actually moving forward in society as a whole, to the point where women weren’t singled out as having a big flashing sign over their heads saying “Rip me off, please”. Alas, as my last car repair experience showed, this wasn’t the case.

Many of you that read my site a lot know that I hate to pay full price for anything. I shop around as much as I can so that I can make sure to get a great deal on pretty much anything I buy. I view it as part of my job being our family’s household manager; it’s my job to save some money. That being said, I’ll let you in on one site that I check in my quest for great buys, it’s Buy.com.

When I was growing up, my parents took us camping a lot. Living in beautiful Colorado, you pretty much have to go camping or they kick you out of the state! So yesterday the hubby and I purchased a tent and all the stuff to go along with camping out. But guess what…unless you reserved a spot last year, you’re not going to find a camping spot this year!

***UPDATE: CURRENT VOLUNTEER COUNT = 5, I NEED 5 MORE!!!***
I’m constantly doing my comparison shopping for groceries, you pretty much have to in these days. We’ll there is a new website that is getting ready to launch that will help you keep track of all of this and save you some cash at the grocery store.
This new site will be a public site where anyone wishing to save some money can, and help others do the same. It’s 100% free, no catch at all. It’s people helping people, that’s it.
I’m asking for about 10 volunteers to watch a presentation on the site and then give their honest feedback on this site and the presentation.
This will be held on Thursday June 26th at 8:30 PM MST for 20-30 minutes.
As an added bonus, I’ll give a blog roll link to whoever signs up.
Just send your e-mail address (it will only be used to relay the information on how to connect to the presentation, it won’t be sold or anything like that) to me at mommie@mommieshome.net with GROCERY in the subject. If you have any questions, please contact me at the same e-mail address.
Come on! Help save money for you and the rest of the people out there!

I had read about these tattoos for kids that have information on them in case a child gets lost. These are a great idea if you’re going to a zoo or amusement park! They are put out by Safety Tat . Go check them out, it’s a wonderful idea. They also have tattoos for allergies, which don’t take the place of medical jewelry but definitely help get the message out!

As we hit the true summer, I did what it seems all moms end up doing during the summer, I got my child into swim lessons. But, unlike having my kindergartner in them last year, the lessons are for my 14 mo old baby. So what good will it do for a baby to have “swim lessons”?

THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED
Alright, time for another one of Mommies contests! This one is kinda sad for me, but good for you. Why is this sad for me? Because I only have one day left with my daughter until she goes to visit her other mom for a six week summer visit. We’ll be at the zoo today, so it’ll be fun! But why is it good for you?
The prizes all remind me of her:-) So what’s up for grabs this month?
