I thought I’d share one of my pregnancy stories from when I was pregnant with my son. I don’t know what made me think of this today, but it made me laugh, so I figured I’d make you laugh too (or cry). It’s a story about McDonalds and how scary a pregnant woman really can be…
First Trimester Exhaustion
Saturday, July 26th, 2008
I must apologize to my readers, as I haven’t been posting as much lately. I also haven’t had time to drop as many Entrecards as usual. Why? I think the exhaustion is upon me in full force…
Stop With The Fries Already!
Friday, July 25th, 2008
French fries are as American as apple pie. They seem to come with any sandwich you would ever order, whether it is a hamburger, a chicken sandwich or a sub sandwich. Here’s a surprise, THEY AREN’T GOOD FOR YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN! I’ve been blessed that even though my daughter always wants them, on the rare occasion that she gets them, she’ll only eat about 3 of them. So what are your options?
Bella Band
Monday, July 21st, 2008
This pregnancy I popped out WAY fast, I swear it looks like there is a basketball in there (at least a small basketball). So this time around, instead of breaking out the maternity wear so early, I’m opting for a Bella Band. What do I hope this will do for me?
Tips To Earn The Most From Surveys
Sunday, July 20th, 2008
It’s no secret, I earn money from taking online surveys. I’ve been taking them pretty much since I quit working over a year ago. But there are definite tips to the surveys that pay, so here are the best ones to maximize your intake…
Body Image in Girls
Saturday, July 19th, 2008
I received a Girl Scouts magazine in the mail the other day. Since my daughter is in Girl Scouts I thought it was for her, but it was actually for me. When I started reading it, I was quite surprised to read an article in it about girls and body image. I’m not sure if I was surprised that the article was just so blunt, or the fact that the “wholesome” Girl Scout magazine had such harsh stories in it…
Do You Really Have HD?
Saturday, July 19th, 2008When we got married, the first thing we purchased together was this monstrous TV, 58 inch flat screen projection TV. We wanted to hit the mainstream and start watching HD before anyone else could. One thing I didn’t quite know was that you needed more than just the TV to watch HD.
Asthma’s Link to Peanut Butter
Thursday, July 17th, 2008
When I was pregnant with my son, I ate Peanut Butter every single day, and I do mean EVERY day. Every morning I would have a toasted whole wheat bagel covered with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. Man I loved that. I actually just bought some peanut butter in anticipation of gearing up for the peanut butter fest again, when my mother told me of an article I should read regarding the link between peanut butter (or peanuts in general) and asthma…
Healthy Mommies
Wednesday, July 16th, 2008
While I’m not always the best at this (I definitely have my Krispy Kreme moments), I sure do try to be as healthy as I can. I try to do this not only for me, but for my kids too. I was watching a program about a couple that had three very overweight children. Both the mom and dad were normal size, but their children were insanely obese. It floored me to listen to the mom explain how she purchased food and how she fed her kids. Here’s what I’ve found out in the time I’ve been a parent…
Black Widows and Children
Monday, July 14th, 2008
This morning, around 6:30 am, I came downstairs with the baby to check my e-mail and Mommieshome. What did I see crawling across the floor but what I believe to be a black widow spider. Turns out my husband had killed one just the night before as well, so that made two. My husband then banned my son from coming downstairs until we can figure out where they are coming from. It got me to thinking, what are the risks of a black widow bite to a child or infant?
