Another House Rant
By Mommie | July 7, 2008
So this morning, as I did my normal lazy Monday chores, I guess I missed a phone call. I was busy folding laundry, picking up the kitchen, taking a shower, stuff like that. The call I missed was our realtors office to schedule a showing…
So I finished my shower and got the baby’s swim gear together for his lesson today, and went down to check my e-mail. Funny, there was one from our realtor saying we had a showing in 15 minutes. Hmmm, great. So I hurried as fast as I could and wiped counters down, made the place smell pretty, things like that. I also turned on our secret squirrel spy device! Actually it’s just our audio recorder that is voice activated so we can hear what the people have to say. We couldn’t afford the one with micro sd, but this one works well for our purposes.
So when I returned home I listened to the recording and something really got under my skin! The guy that came to look at our house wasn’t the first to say this, but he didn’t like that fact that there was parking on the street in front of our home.
Why does this make me mad? Here’s why. We live in a town home with a two car garage and therefore a two car driveway as well. If you look at a single family home, where do they park? Hmmm, let me see, THE SAME PLACE WE DO!!! We park in our driveway and then if we have to many cars, they park on the street in front of our house! I’m not quite sure where these people are coming from? Did they want underground parking? A massive parking lot? We live in a home like any other.
I digress. Again, hoping and praying that something occurs soon, as my hormones are increasing and that never goes with house worries!

I don’t get it either. Doesn’t make much sense. Good luck selling your house.

I know how it feels dear. I’m staying in an apartment here and each unit have only one parking lot. Our parking is just at the entrance and it is the most convenient parking lot for the whole block.
Most of the time, our parking lot will be parked by other cars. I really got mad and sometimes I just honk loudly, until the person come and remove the car. I know it is bad, that;s why my car got so many scratches.
Luckily, the management comes with a new rules, clamping and fine of $50 for each clamp removal. It is lesser now, maybe around 1 case in a week, but I don’t have to honk again. Just complaint to the management or the security guard to clamp, will do.

It can be so frustrating. Be patient (easier said than done), the right buyer will come and love your house and not care about the parking.

I have not experienced selling a house yet. But, we are thinking of selling the one we are living now and buy a bigger one. We have 2 kids and the youngest is 7 months old girl. She does not have a room of her own. Right now, she sleeps with us. Anyway, I’m just gonna make myself ready when selling time comes.
