    Better Start Thinking About It

    By Mommie | November 14, 2008

We are inching closer and closer to the big day, the big day of Christmas. Make sure and get your lists of things to do for the big day in order, which include all the presents, wrapping, decorations, and cooking. And yes, you can get the Christmas cards out of the way now!

You can order your Christmas cards at anytime, and the sooner the better. The more Christmas cards you have to send out, the earlier you need to get on it. Last year I had a ton and I waited until the end of the season, I was a hurting unit!

If you are going to order them online, then try to find bargains and also keep in mind how the company you are purchasing from should be socially responsible. Ones that do things like Operation Christmas Tree are some decent ones, you can feel good about purchasing from a company that donates 5,000 Christmas trees to our guys overseas.

Whatever you choose to do, keep in mind that the Christmas season ends up being incredibly hectic. Anything you can do to ease stress and burden on yourself during this time is a must! Get things done early if you can!

We have been shopping and are about half way done with the kids. We decided this year we were going on a budget for Christmas and NOT using credit cards. SO, each of our 3 kids will be getting about $100 worth of gifts. I’m trying to make the most out of that $100. The two little ones are getting 3 gifts for both of them: a wagon, Aquadoodle and a toddler game system (forgot the name but I bought it for $15 from $40). For our 10 year old we bought a $24 MP3 player, a transformer chess game and a metal detector. We still have to buy about $50 for our 1 year old son and for our 10 year old. Our 2 year old girl was easy to shop for and I could buy her TONS more!! lol.

We have been preparing for the little guy’s birthday party - tomorrow - and after that I will be filling out Christmas cards to have them ready for the week after Thanksgiving. We bought them on clearance after last Christmas. I will also prepare an anniversary card and 2 birthday cards that will need to be mailed in the next month.
