So I just finished up about half of my daughters back to school shopping from her school supply list. Every year there seemd to be more and more on her list, leaving a bigger and bigger dent in our pocketbook. So is there a way to decrease that once a year expense? Read the rest of this entry »

How Hard Is It To Work At Home Blogging?
Dec 15th, 2008 by Mommie

WAHM

Mommies Home.net has been up and running for over a year now. It started out as something to keep me busy during my days but has turned into much, much more. Now my goal is to try and make a decent part-time income not only blogging on Mommies Home.net, but also adding my two cents to many of the work-at-home opportunities that present themselves. But how hard is it to actually work at home blogging? Read the rest of this entry »

How To Go From Two Incomes To One
Nov 20th, 2008 by Mommie

money

I was in the corporate world long enough to be laid off twice. What a wonderful feeling, going from knowing where your next paycheck is coming from to hoping to God that the unemployment check arrives fast enough so you can pay your rent. With today’s economy in the toilet and continuing down the sewer line, let’s go over how to deal with it if you or your partner gets hit with the lay off… Read the rest of this entry »

Which Card Is The Right Card?
Feb 8th, 2008 by Mommie

I’ve talked before on Mommieshome about whether debit or credit cards are the better choice to use. It got a decent amount of debate. That being said, if credit is your way to go you need to be able to do your homework on which card is right for you. That being said, where can you go to find that kind of info?

One site that can help you find the best credit cards is Cardfusion.com. This site allows you to review over 100 of the best credit card offers, letting you choose between what is important to you in a card. One of the replies to the cash or debit post was that the cash back is what they valued the most. On Cardfusion, you can find that certain type of card that you’re looking for, low interest rates, student cards, instant cards, pretty much anything you’re looking for. They do the homework for you and only offer the best, so see if they have what you want in that credit card so many of you are using!

Stop It Already!
Feb 4th, 2008 by Mommie

So this is Suzie Orman, if you don’t know who she is she’s this loud woman who likes to tell people they can’t buy stuff because they owe like $5 on a credit card. I love this woman and I love when she tells people things like that. Anyhow, she posted a few ways to get your name off mailing lists. Why would you want to do this? Well let’s think about it…

One thing I don’t have time for as a busy mom is to pick up the mail and see that there are 10 credit card offers and tons of junk that I don’t need or want or have time to weed through. Taking your name off these lists will help you decrease clutter in your life and an easier life is a happier Mommie!
