Well, I’ve officially hit it. I’ve hit the time in my pregnancy when I’m so hungry I could eat my dog. Scares me really, as I’m supposed to be “watching” my weight. So I was wondering how in the world I could be this hungry… Read the rest of this entry »
I had another prenatal appointment today. They had to hook me up to the baby heart monitor machine, as the baby’s heartbeat was dipping during last months ultrasound. I guess all is well, as the doctor says that it looks like a healthy baby boy. I was relieved and happy.
And then I asked the fatal question… “How’s my weight doing?”. See, I must explain that this was a “substitute” doctor, as mine just had a baby. She doesn’t know me, or my sense of humor or what I’m sensitive towards. My weight is one of those issues that my regular doctor would have dealt with in a much different manner…

Well, I’m just finishing up my 23rd week. I’m starting to feel like I’m getting big now, can’t tie my shoes really well, can’t bend down as easily, my son is starting to walk more than being carried. The little bean in my belly is sure jumping, yesterday I saw him go back and forth across my belly, making big waves on my skin. I love that. I’m one of those women that will just look down at the belly and smile until it stops, I love it so much! Everything else is going great. My back hurts a little at night, but that’s because I’m waking up on my back! Anyhow, no complaints here for week 23.
I’ve been doing some looking into how to protect your mattress in case your water breaks during the night. With my son, the thought honestly never occurred to me. It wouldn’t break anywhere but the hospital, right:-) In fact they broke my water at the hospital. But I’ve been reading that with your second it breaks more often at home. So what do you do to protect your mattress investment from that gush of fluid? Read the rest of this entry »
Well, after saying we weren’t going to find out for so long, we decided to find out if we were having a boy or a girl. I just wouldn’t know what to do if it came out and it was a girl, we wouldn’t have anything pink at all! Nothing girly. So we were about 95% certain it was a girl, we were even calling it “she”, as the pregnancy was so different. There’s no movement, I haven’t been sick at all, I don’t have any of the icky ailments I had with my son. So we go in for the ultrasound and guess what…there’s a penis!!
We are quite excited, as one of the solid names we had picked out was for a boy. Our daughter was less than happy, but she’ll get over it. So here’s to another boy!!
Ya, ya, I’m getting all fat. Back off, it’s the baby in there! Here’s my belly at 19 weeks. It’s funny, some people say I look huge, some people say I look tiny. Beats me, I just know I’m feeling the weight of that belly now!

This is amazing to me, as I had to claw and scratch for a month and a half, then had to take basically no pay for another 6 weeks.
What do you think of this? Do you think it will ever spread to the US?!?
It’s always hard when you get pregnant, and that expanding body of yours just won’t fit in any of your normal clothes. Most maternity clothes look like monstrous mu mu’s that only drape your frame, they do nothing to actually show off that you have a baby in your belly. This pregnancy I’m definitely trying to look a little better and to find some trendy maternity clothes…
