Spring break has arrived for many school agers, my daughters starts today actually. With the economy the way it is and money tight all around, I thought I’d give some thought on some cheap Spring Break activities for school agers. These are if you plan to stay home and not have a destination vacation in mind.
Take in a new park – Find a park close to you and explore it! Around us there are probably 10 parks, we’ve only really been to about 4 of them. This is a cheap and fun way to spend a day.
Recreation centers – These are fairly cheap, especially if you go to the one in your city and take advantage of the resident discounts. They can offer swimming, basketball, volleyball, running, you name it.
Skating – Right around any break off school, we end up with free coupons to go skating at the local skating rink. This is cheap and fun for the kids.
Zoo – You can get through the zoo fairly cheap if you bring your own food and don’t partake in any of the extras that they offer. It’s still a great day without the cost.
Volunteer – There are always places that need volunteers, now more than ever at food banks and the like. It’s a good way to spend time with the family and help others at the same time.
Do you have some ideas?? Let me know, I’d love to hear them!
