Kids that age really thrive on that sort of attention and it really does help give them a sense of accomplishment. It also urges them on to continue the behavior. It's his first as he is in Kindergarten. The "ceremony" started at 6:30 pm, starting with a PTA meeting and then the awards for all the kids. I inquired ahead of time as to what would happen, same thing. They would call their name and have them stand up. We didn't go. I wasn't about to have the kids sit for 30 minutes through a PTA meeting just to stand and hear his name. Especially since 7:30 is bed time. I have had to do every assembly the same way...I call the kid's names...they stand....they sit. We always seem to be on a time constraint. I would ask your daughter's teacher or principal if you would take a picture with the adults, your daughter and the award/certificate. Then frame it for her wall.
