Easy Changes For The Kids Room

Recently we updated our daughter’s bedroom to reflect a bigger girl’s room. It had recently been filled with Princess stuff (I hope someone at Disney took a vacation on the money they made off of us), pink and items for a 3 year old. Here were some of the cheap updates we did to make our daughter’s room ready for ages 7-12…
The easiest was the paint. We repainted her room a light purple (as her favorite color changed from pink to purple), which was a great thing for me, as I really don’t care for pink.
We also added a shelf on her wall for her medals and trophies. This was fairly cool for her, as it had her karate belts on it and we were showing off her accomplishments.
Her bedspread was changed from a princess one (thanks again Disney), to a light grey. She loved it, thought it was “way cool”.
With her princess stuff on the way out and the big girl on the way in, it’s almost sad to let that go. I get to look forward to the fun of the “attitude” that comes with the growing up girl. Ick. But I’m happy that she’s doing so well!
