    Fine, Get The Stupid Wii

    By Mommie | August 15, 2008

    wii

I’ve been fighting with my husband forever about getting a Wii. I actually don’t like it. I think it has bad graphics, I’ve only seen bad bowling games, pretty much I think it’s a big waste of fad money. But my hubby has been awfully good lately, finishing the baby’s room, getting me a new car, still going to school full time and working his butt off. I finally caved, he can get the stupid Wii!

But when searching for the Wii I ran into a problem. Costco was supposed to have them, but no go when I arrived there. So to the internet I go…

Buy.com, yet again, had great prices on the Wii. They are always a wonderful tool to use in order to comparison shop or just browse. They also have their weekly sale page that has some great deals to check out on a regular basis.

While getting a good price is one thing, having that silly thing in my house, with my daughter glued to it for 10 hours a day will kill me. Good thing school is starting! That’ll be hours that she won’t be begging to play it. While I definitely monitor and limit my daughters computer game and TV time, I’m sure that the Wii will be added to the long list of “limits”. Do you think I’ll get “addicted” like all the other Wii addicts?

I am against the WII aswell, My wife is the one who wants one, She seems to think its good exercise.
At work we have had several of these wii that have come in for repair, Ive had a quick turn on wii tennis an its actually really good, It can see how it can be addictive though.

Actually, and don’t shoot me, I love our Wii. I wanted to get it for darling Hubby 2 Fathers Day’s ago, but had a heck of a time getting my hands on one. He is way more dilligent, he found one in 3 days (as his fathers day gift, a little late) The graphics are not tremendous, but the interactivity, especially for kids, is great. They are $249.99 new, which is cheaper than any other game system. I wanted WiiFit for Mother’s day this year and due to it’s limited release(I think it is a brilliant nintendo marketing strategy, but “they” claim they just can’t keep them in stock, like the system itself) I finally got it last weekend and it’s mine! No one else in the family even cares to try it. you might just get addicted!!

I have to admit, I too love our Wii. This week I finally got my hands on the Wii Fit and LOVE it! My daughter and I have been working out with it for the past 4 days and it is so much more fun that simply walking on the treadmill. Also, it’s much cheaper than paying monthly fees at a health club. There are a ton of activities to choose from, and the aerobics are a lot of fun. My 12 year old is having fun with it too, so if she says she spent an hour or two on the Wii and she was doing Wii Fit, I can guarantee you she was burning some calories. :-D

It’ll be a great workout and bonding for the family actually. I had seen how grown up men sweating while playing games of tennis and boxing. I had tried my hand in boxing too and my arms were aching the following days. It will give the kids a chance to get up and have their hands in games too. It may not be that bad. :)

I think you may well change your mind once you’ve tried it. A lot of my friends have them and they think they’re great ;-)

Yeah, the Wii isn’t a graphics heavy hardcore gaming system but the Wii games make up for it with super addictive family fun games. Even without the Wii Fit kit, the sports games can be quite a workout. The kids absolutely love it, and it draws parents in too.

We don’t have any games in our house except for ones that go in the computer. I know (gasp) we are horrible parents. Our poor child is so deprived without an x box or hand held game boy, nothing.
But if we were going to purchase something in that realm we did say it would be a Wii. Hubby doesn’t want the kids glued to the game sitting on their behinds. However, the computer is ok???? I give.

I want a Wii and the Wii fit SO BADLY. My husband is resisting since we already have a Gamecube, the original Xbox, and the Xbox 360. But I’m going to keep asking for one!

My husband begged for one forever and I finally caved. No one in our house is addicted, but we have fun with it occasionally. I played it a couple nights ago and I’m in pain…I got too into it. LOL! I want the Wii Fit so bad…I can see getting addicted to that.

You’ll love the Wii. Trust me on this. It’s the most innovative gaming system to come down the pike in years. My family loves our Wii and everyone from kids to adults can find some very addictive games for it.

      Give it a try.

At first I hated the wii. The graphics looked like N64 standard, but when I heard they had MarioKart on it, I really want one.

Yet, for the fitness side of things, what’s wrong with just going outside for a jog or popping down the park?
