Frugal Holidays - Week of October 27th

    By Mommie | October 27, 2008

This week we’ll go over some of the best ways to save some money during the holidays, and that is giving homemade baked goodies for gifts. So let’s go over how this is not only a money saver but it is more with the feeling and spirit of Christmas…

So every year people spend a ton of money buying cookies, candy, pretty much anything having to do with a sweet tooth at Christmas. Every year there are a few things I wish I had more time to do, but never end up doing and that’s baking for Christmas. Many people feel the same way, and giving the gift of “Christmas” via cookies and candy is an awesome way to share the Christmas spirit.

Here’s some tips for frugal baking this season:

    - Look for sales on staples, like flour, sugar, sprinkles, things like that. They usually start around Thanksgiving time.

    - Look at the dollar stores for cute cookie bags and other cheap ways to “wrap” your gifts.

    - Buy in bulk and bake in bulk. This will keep the cost down on your end.

These are just some quick tips on how to make some of those Christmas goodies for a little cheaper this year (don’t forget the diet pills either, lol)
