If there is one place I never end up going, it’s Toys R Us. Even with three kiddos, I haven’t been in one of those places for at least 2 years. Well, the Toys R Us over by us has started to sell grocery items. Kind of an odd move, wouldn’t you say? As one of the largest brick and mortar toy stores, there must be trouble in paradise when they start selling cereal next to the DS games.
So is this a change in Toys R Us for the better or just a sign of the times? Honestly, I would say it’s just a sign of the times. With people shopping less and less, I’m assuming they are trying to justify keeping the large toy stores open. They have a corner on the internet toy market as well, as they are one of Amazon’s largest toy sellers. I have a feeling they are trying to squeeze those last few penny’s of profit out of their consumers in the ever changing market.
We’ll see if this idea takes off for them and they end up being a one stop shop. What do you think?
