My favorite first was the first time my son said “Mama I love you”!

My daughter is now 9 months old, but ever since she was first born I’d say “dame un besito” (give me a kiss in Spanish). I’d do it every time I’d hold her and bring her lips to me. When she was about 3 months old, she leaned in herself and gave me one when I asked for it. My husband in disbelief said, if you said “give me onions” she’d do it. After proving him wrong time and time again, she still gives me besitos when I ask for it and even when I don’t.

Hello, I am a stay at home mom and have been for quite a few years. One of the main reasons for staying home and being with my sons is that I wanted to see their first everything. I didn’t want a sitter or day care provider telling me what my child learned that day. My oldest son was funny because he could not get he rhythm of crawling! He would get very frustrated with the whole process. Before he was eight months old, he decided to be upright. Being kind of young for standing and having stability, he would run from one spot to the other. Not walk. Run. It was so funny to see. The ironic thing is, it wasn’t long and he could dribble a soccer ball. My sister and I couldn’t believe our eyes. He ended up playing soccer, baseball, a discus thrower, relay runner, cross country runner, etc. Mostly, a baseball player. Thanks for letting me tell my story. Cindi

    Great contest!

My favorite moment…like someone else said…so many to choose from! I guess hearing my son laugh when he was like between 6-9 months (he is 2 1/2 now) and I was throwing a ball with our dog and he just started laughing at her! We had not heard him laugh like that before. Such a cute laugh, and don’t you know..we had to drag out the video camera and keep throwing the ball with Phoebe (our dog) to hear him laugh. It was soooo cute!

My favorite has always been their 1st birthdays, this is so speacial as it means we’ve been together through all the firsts. But I love their expression when they see that first cake and taste it. Course the mess is fun to watch but never fun to clean.
