My After Baby Plan
By Mommie | November 19, 2008
Alright, so I’ve been through this before. With the last kid I gained 40 pounds. It took about a year to get it all off, and that was without trying at all. This time though, I have a plan! Right, right, my great plans. But hey, ya gotta have goals, right?

For some reason my substitute doctor has it in my head that I’m not supposed to gain anymore weight, as I’m at about 21 pounds now. I just looked and saw I gained 40 with my son, so I figure we’ll just try to shoot for lower than 40 and all is good!
But I want to take it off in faster than a year. We don’t plan on anymore children so I might as well shoot for the bikini body as soon as I can (by the way, I wouldn’t be caught in a bikini ever, I’m being so sarcastic you have no idea). So what’s my plan?
1. Get some type of exercise everyday - This shouldn’t be hard with 3 kids (one that I have no idea how I’m going to keep up with at all). Walking the daughter to school and taking the boys for walks should help. I’m also going to keep up with the Wii Fit, as it’s low impact for now.
2. Drink at least 65 ounces of water a day - This is easier than it sounds, I just get lazy and forget to fill my water bottle.
3. Breastfeed for as long as possible - This is what I attribute the most weight loss to when I had my son. I’m telling you it’s one of the best fat burners a girl can get. I went 10 and a half months with my son, and would have gone longer if I wasn’t scared to death to lose a nipple from the little vampire. I digress.
4. Try to play with the kids more - I clean the house and cook a lot, but the playtime seems shorter and shorter. My son will be dropping a nap here soon, so that’ll be good incentive to pick up on the playtime. Hey, adults need it too!
Those are just a few things I plan on doing. So what will stand in the way? Last time I got the baby blues pretty bad, it’s one of the things I’m scared about this time. I was not happy. That may make me just become complacent. Being exhausted will also take its toll. I’m sure I’ll have a chance to rest, I just think it’ll be when all the kids are out of the house!
Have ideas for an After the Baby plan? Let me know!

I can totally relate to the vampire remark. I went 8 1/2 months with my twins. It was a lot of work but really helps you lose the weight! Plus, not having a monthly friend is a good benefit while breastfeeding!
