Should Anthony Get Death Penalty?
December 16th, 2008 by Mommie

casey anthony

If you didn’t already know all about this, there is this woman named Casey Anthony who “supposedly” decided to kill her 2 (almost 3) year old daughter, Caylee. This has been plastered all over the news for months. Her daughter was gone for a month before she said anything, of course saying that her daughter was kidnapped. Months of searching went by, when finally someone found the remains of her daughter about a mile from Casey’s parents house. I didn’t think this information would effect me, but then I had a dream about Casey. People were doing an old fashioned stoning in my dream. So does she deserve the death penalty?

If you’ve followed the case then you know all about this Casey woman and what a nut job she’s turning out to be. I’ve known people like that in my life, people that were such liars that they honestly think they are telling the truth. But to have one on the television, night after night, just seems to mess with my subconscious. You can read more about this here.

In my opinion, if she is found guilty by a court of law, I think she should get the death penalty. Not for the straight fact that she killed her daughter, but for the awful cover up that she tried to accomplish. No remorse, nothing, just denial.

How frightening to think that there are mothers out there, who are capable of doing this to their children…..

The world is getting more savage by the day….

I also think that she should get the death penalty. She is not a mother. She is a monster!

Oh, I didn’t know the baby’s body was found. This is too sad.

As opinionated as I am on most subjects, the death penalty is one where I am ambivalent. I’ve done a lot of research to make a decision about favoring it or not and I still can’t decide.

If she gets the death penalty, so be it. If not, I hope she serves the remainder of her life in prison.

I hate the fact that people consider the death penalty as punishment. It shouldn’t be, in my opinion – it should just be the disposal of people who are unable to be rehabilitated.

The fact (or psychiatric opinion, rather) that someone is so insane that they couldn’t helped but to have done what it’s found they did, I don’t understand how that’s a reason not to apply the death penalty.

In fact, I think that’s the root cause of the problem with the penal system in most western countries – the focus is on punishment, and not on prevention and rehabilitation.

From what I’ve understood, they haven’t positively comfirmed yet whether the remains actually are Caylee’s. Assuming they are, and Caylee is indeed found to be the murderer, I would support the death penalty for her. I would not trust a child murderer to function in polite society, and I don’t think that society should pay for her room and board for the rest of her life.

@Reg – I don’t think they positively identified them, as the DNA tests take a while. You’re right on that one. But honestly, what are the chances, I mean come on!

@Fwaggle – Prevention and rehabilitation sound great, but I just don’t see them working to well if it’s in regards to a murderer.

No matter what, someone will be without a toddler this Christmas season:-(

Yes she should, and if they cannot find anyone to do, they can call me. I would be happy to exterminate her sorry ***

@dwayne – if they don’t give her the death penalty, I’m sure she’ll be in grave danger within the penal system…

I think she should spend the rest of her miserable life in prison. To have your freedom taken away has to be easier than death.

When I was a kid I was always led to believe that if you killed someone you would go to prison and then die for your crime. Then I found out that lawyers found a way to make big bucks by appealing cases for these POS people. One of my close family members was raped and murdered and the scum that did it languished on death row in CA for 23 years. Darryl Rich finally met his end in 2000 in a humane way. Personally, I would have tied his testicles to a rope and thrown him off a bridge like he did to one of his victims, an 11 year old girl. My thinking is that anyone convicted of murder should have 6 months to get their affairs in order and then they march ‘em off to meet their end. We would send a clear message to others that way, and save a ton of money in the process.

Definitely, Yes. I say this without reservation. This girl had parents who loved this child, who would have taken her if she had decided to relinquish her rights.

Nut job or not, I don’t care. Thank Goodness that we DO have the death penalty here in Florida. I hope she gets it. And Fast.

In our culture it is legal to throw away unborn, unwanted life. Perhaps this thinking has led to tragedies such as this.
