Healthy Mommies

While I'm not always the best at this (I definitely have my Krispy Kreme moments), I sure do try to be as healthy as I can. I try to do this not only for me, but for my kids too. I was watching a program about a couple that had three very overweight children. Both the mom and dad were normal size, but their children were insanely obese. It floored me to listen to the mom explain how she purchased food and how she fed her kids. Here's what I've found out in the time I've been a parent...

We always hear about superfoods for adults, it seams Oprah has a show on it with Dr. Oz every other day. But what about superfoods for your children? What are the foods that pack the most "good stuff" in them for your children? Many people would be surprised to know that they don't include Mac n' cheese, chicken nuggets or hot dogs! Here's the list, so you better get a cooking!

For any mom to young kids, there are two things that are fairly constant (and no, they aren't death and taxes). These would be the stroller and the need to lose the rest of the baby weight. While many places will sell you videos or make you pay for classes on these (which I think are both absurd), you can do your own stroller workout and lose some of the weight! Here's a quick how to:

I'm a germ phob, I always have been. With our oldest child going to kindergarten this year, I've been worse than usual. She has to wash her hands when she gets home from school, get all that icky kindergarten sludge off her hands. Luckily she hasn't missed a day of kindergarten. But with the baby around, I always worry. A few weeks ago we were informed that there was a outbreak of Fifth disease at her school. I had never heard of it, but I homed in on the part of the letter from her school that said "small risk of miscarriage". As I'm looking to get pregnant, it scared me to death. So what is Fifth Disease?
