    The Stroller Workout

    By Mommie | June 2, 2008

For any mom to young kids, there are two things that are fairly constant (and no, they aren’t death and taxes). These would be the stroller and the need to lose the rest of the baby weight. While many places will sell you videos or make you pay for classes on these (which I think are both absurd), you can do your own stroller workout and lose some of the weight! Here’s a quick how to:

-Warm up and stretch before doing a stroller workout!
-Walk for the cardio workout, that means pick up the pace! Of course it’s nice to take a leisurely walk with your little one, but if your goal of the walk is exercise then pick it up a notch.
-Small hand weights help. Try to do one arm bicep curls or shoulder presses while walking, this will get the rest of your body fit as well
-Take water with you! You’ll need it and so might your child.
-You can do lunges at intervals while walking, this will get your legs good.

While this won’t immediately melt it off like the most effective diet pill would claim, this will indeed aid in getting to be a healthier mommy!

Walking is great but you need a bit more then that.

Do a lower body circuit workout with your stroller:

      1. Walk for 4 minutes (good pace)
      2. Do bodyweight squats for 1 minute
      3. Walk for 2 minutes
      4. Do lunges for 1 minute each side
      5. Walk for 2 minutes
      6. Do bench step-ups with shoulder presses for 2 minutes
      7. Go back to #1

      enjoy!
